They were the ones who mocked him, beat him and spat on him before literally nailing Jesus to the cross. And yet Jesus still cries out, "Father, forgive them." What did the cross and empty tomb look like from the soldiers' perspective? We celebrate resurrection Sunday by seeing just how like the soldiers we are, and how God's amazing grace, through Jesus Christ, is sufficient to save them and us.
