NOTES
Celebrating Easter can feel naïve, odd and even out-of-touch.
No matter how much we wish, or how hard we try, life’s uncertainty, chaos and violence leaves its mark on our lives.
Political Propaganda – Cultural Ideology – Intellectual Mastery – Religious Rituals
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” John 14:6
I passed on to you what was most important and what has also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive…Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
For this is how God loved the world. He gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. Jesus of Nazareth
Purpose – Problem – Plan – Promise
One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself – and us too while you’re at it!” Luke 23:39-43
But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong. Luke 23:39-43
Then he said, “Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:39-43
Jesus did the UNTHINKABLE
Jesus felt the UNBEARABLE
Jesus gave the UNDESERVED
Yes to Jesus gives us a peace that can’t be stolen and a power that can’t be stopped – which transforms our lives permanently.
