Publisher's Summary:
Eat Your Way to God is about the life our creator designed us for. Discover the healing power of our food, and how it is an illustration of a deeper hunger within us all for the ultimate healer Christ the Tree of Life. Learn how the patterns or traditions we develop around our food are indicators of true spiritual and relational health.
True health, which is holistic - body, soul, and spirit - is transferred from house to house, generation to generation, and the dinner table plays a key role in the transference of a lasting legacy. God's greatest desire is for His people to be connected to Him, to metabolize His life, to express His life so that the nations will be healed and curses will be broken.
The Bible begins with a Tree of Life before the fall of Adam and ends with the Tree of Life who has restored us with a new heaven and earth. Christ is the Tree of Life that brings healing to the nations and sustains us while we are journeying through a fallen world.

Don't be found lacking!
I've done quite a bit of traveling overseas. America is a great nation, but we are lacking. In culture after culture that I have encountered, they have all had something in common. This is something so deeply rich called community. It is people living together, sharing life, sharing resources.
This is in great lack in America where we are self-sufficient, busy, distracted, and isolated. "Stuff" and corporate success (also disguised as "financial security") have seeped in to become an identity and replace true relationships. We as people were originally created for relationships; ultimately, a relationship with God, the creator of the world.
This book is an invitation to return to a lifestyle, physically and spiritually, that is more rich and fulfilling as we walk more closely with Christ and others. As that happens, we more effectively can introduce others to the life-giving source that is Jesus. It's a challenge to the Church (myself included) to dig deeper than putting on events a couple times a week. It might step on your toes, but Truth is only offensive to those in denial. Not that this book is perfection, the author would tell you himself that he is always growing and learning (after he jokes about how it would be the first time he was wrong); but the concepts addressed are intended to provoke us to authentic, organic lives as disciples of Jesus. It's worth your time.
Devour this book!
I have known Guy and Kelli Caskey for over 12 years now and this book is their life. I have traveled to Ethiopia with them and for 2 years worked side by side together in Houston for the mission of Christ. I can unequivocally say that this is how they live everyday of their lives. They eat, breathe, talk, sleep the mission of God in intimate community found throughout the entire Bible, but especially what we see in the book of Acts. If you don't want to be encouraged, challenged and inspired, then don't read this book. If you do want those things...well, devour it. It's a fantastic read. As a matter of fact I read it sitting in the Bole Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia waiting to return to Denver. It was that good.
