1. Have you ever worked extremely hard to achieve a goal? What was the reward, and was the effort you put in worth it in the end? In what ways have you found that working together with someone else is better than working alone?2. Read Ecclesiastes 4:1-3. What does the “Teacher” notice about oppression under the sun? Is there anything the “Church” can do to help those who are being oppressed? Name anything you can think of.3. Read Ecclesiastes 4: 4-8. What example does the “Teacher” use to show rivalry and jealousy? What do these verses suggest about the human tendency to work excessively or compete with others for status? Have you ever felt the frustration of working hard and yet seeing life as meaningless? How did you respond? 4. Read Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12. Name those people in your life who have been a source of companionship and support throughout your life. Why, and how did they help you? What do these verses teach about the importance of community versus isolation? What is the danger of solidarity? 5.
