Missing Some Pages: A Podcast About Life As We Know It

Echoes of the Ancestors

Listen Later

In this episode, we take a look at how Christian colonialism impacted ancient African cultural traditions during the Atlantic Slave Trade and talk about some of the reasons why so many of these traditions have been vilified in modern Christian circles. We discuss the difference between modern traditions within the African diaspora (Santeria, Voodoo, Gullah) and how these traditions are both different from, connected to and bastions of those ancient traditions within the colonial sphere in the West.
