Pretti Lady, Felicia Rivers, and Miguel Castro are bringing it to yall in preparation for the award show coming this Sunday at Sterett Hall (Old Navy Base in North Charleston, SC)

October is awareness month for breast cancer and domestic violence. This show is dedicated to those that have lost their lives to these tragedies, those that are continually fighting, and those that conquered. Poetry about these topics will be evaluated, appreciated, and explored.

This is the last week to vote... (voting ends at Friday midnight). Hear different nominees state their case on why they should bring an award home, hear different perspectives, music, and the CEO chime in on what is relevant in the Chuck.

Baggage, it is hindering your life.

GeeChee One Magazine presents their annual award show on October 10, 2010 at Sterett Hall in the lovely city of Charleston, SC. This show showcases the music, poetry, and brief interviews of the nominees and fans of this acclaimed series.

From the perspective of a male:

The problem is that we are turning into a nation of b**ches. The standard held up to us is entirely female. This can be easily witnessed in the rise of the "metrosexual," the straight man so feminized that, like a woman, he is obsessed with his appearance, daubs on makeup and opts for cosmetic surgery. Today, men are supposed to have "relationship skills," and they are expected to be capable of achieving "greater intimacy" and to openly express their emotions. They are supposed to be "soul mates" and to "communicate" like girlfriends, not act like testosterone-charged lovers. But at the same time, today's woman has still not shed her typical female hypocrisy; as usual, she still wants it both ways. When there's hard work to be done or bills to be paid, that's when she wants us to act like "real men."

To love someone who is incarcerated or not to love them...

Is this a question to ask yourself? For some, loving an incarcerated person is a fact of life. For some, it is a realization yet to happen. For some, it would be a fate worse than death!

Is this the most atrocious thing that one could consider? How on earth could you be involved in a relationship with someone who is imprisoned for an extended period of time? What kind of life do you have, or will you have? What did they do? How do you know that you are safe? Are they worth your love and commitment?

I have a question: Is there a way to go naturally “gracefully”? I am really considering going natural after 10+ of having relaxed hair. I am going natural for several reasons, but was wondering, what is the best approach to this? Should I grow out my perm? Should I just cut it all off? In the beginning stage is it okay to wear braids for a while so the hair can grow? I am terrified of this and guess I should really give it some serious thought. Another thing is I am a recent graduate and in the market for a job. Will having natural hair scare away potential employers? I guess if worn the right way it won’t. Sorry for all the questions but I am really curious as how to approach this and go through with going natural, especially in the beginning phase and getting used the change.
