On our final episode of 2020 we chat with native Austinite and seasoned musician, Dave Scher. Dave is well known in the Austin music community as exceptional guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who has gigged extensively with a variety of artists as well as fronting his own group, the Dave Scher Trio. Recently he was asked to join legendary Austin-based guitarist, Eric Johnson, taking on duties as second guitarist, keyboards and backup vocalist. The band was on the road for the first quarter of the year but were unable to finish all dates due to the outbreak of Covid in March. We get some great insight into Eric's work ethic, gear and eccentricities as well as Dave's fond memories of having a private hotel room and copious amounts of girl scout cookies (perks to fame).

We also discuss both Dave and Eric's stage gear, get a short tour of Mr. Scher's recording studio, and find out about some of his cool guest appearances with long time colleagues such as Gary Clark Jr. and Chris Gage. Other topics include travel and the differences between Ireland and Denmark, Dave's awesome dog, Vic's lifelong dream to go to Redhead Festival and Skunk's majestic podcast perfect voice. 2020 is in the books and we were happy to send it off with a bang. Dave Scher is a top-notch musician, a class act and a hell of a compliment giver... especially when Vic throws him a few extra bucks.
