Welcome back to episode 258 of the Ecommerce Society Podcast! After a little break (which feels so odd for me), I’m sharing some big life updates that have been in the works. For over four years, I’ve been pouring everything into my business, and now I’m stepping away from some things to explore new passions. Tune in to hear why I’m closing some chapters—like my coaching programs and membership—and diving headfirst into exciting new ventures, like my product business and, yes, a 9-to-5!
I get into how burnout post-book launch in 2023 set me on this path and how starting my dog poop bag business made me realize I’m ready for a fresh adventure. I also reflect on why it’s important to embrace change, the value of businesses as stepping stones, and what’s next for me.
In this episode, I share:
Episode Highlights:

Welcome to the Ecommerce Society Podcast, episode 253.
In this podcast episode, Kerrie hosts Katie Cole and Jenny DiMarco, founders of Monthlies Period Club, a subscription service offering personalized period products delivered directly to customers. They discuss the inspiration behind their brand, emphasizing convenience and customization, aiming to destigmatize periods and make menstrual products accessible. The brand offers a mix-and-match approach to product selection, using well-known brands to allow customers to tailor their subscriptions to their needs. The conversation also covers the entrepreneurial journey of the founders, from ideation to overcoming initial hesitations and the operational challenges they face. They highlight their commitment to charitable outreach and the educational aspect of their business. The episode explores the dynamics of starting a business in college and the supportive feedback they received from friends and family, contrasting with some skepticism from older individuals unfamiliar with modern entrepreneurial opportunities.

Hey, it's Kerrie here! In episode 249 of the Ecommerce Society podcast, I dive into my recent experience speaking at a jewelry expo, called PJX. I share insights on the immense power of community and networking, the importance of constantly revising and improving your presentations, and the value of asking for compensation.
Building relationships and connections within your industry can open up invaluable opportunities. I emphasize the significance of engaging your audience and adjusting your presentation based on their reactions. I reflect on what worked and what didn’t during my trade show presentation and discuss the necessity of better preparation and setting boundaries when committing to multiple events.
One of the key takeaways is the importance of starting with virtual speaking opportunities to gain experience. Don't forget to capture videos or photos for social proof! Listen in as I talk about how speaking engagements can be a game-changer for product-based businesses, providing visibility and a chance to connect with new audiences.
