Pastor holds an economics Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Pastor’s research has generally focused on issues of the economic, environmental and social conditions facing low-income urban communities – and the social movements seeking to change those realities.
For over 30 years, Professor Manuel Pastor has been a trailblazer in scholastic activism, examining critical issues like the 1992 riots, economic disinvestment, and social stratification. His work bridges academia and community action, driving meaningful change.
