Each year a billion people across the world celebrate Earth Day but what does Earth Day mean to you? Have you ever just stopped and really thought about it?

 

Earth Day is a day for us all to remember the environment in our busy lives, a day that reminds us to continue to do the little things that help our planet and different ways we can protect it.

 

But where did it all begin?

Earth Day was established and first celebrated in the United States in 1970 following an oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. A staggering 20 million people held rallies across the US after the catastrophic event. Today, it is widely credited as being one of the sparks of the modern environmental movement because it led to the creation of the environment Protection agency.

What I love about Earth Day is that everyone can participate, we can collectively gather and move together toward rethinking what life and our business could and should look like.

 

Earth Day is a time to come together  to join hands in festivals, environment cleanups, tree planting, recycling programs, and community activities 

 

But Earth Day is so much more than an event or a day on the calendar.  It marks our commitment to protecting our environment for generations to come.
