EN 81-20/50 Q&A NOW AVAILABLE
Liftinstituut has reported the transitional period that allowed companies to apply both the EN 81-20/50 and 81-1+A3 standards ends on August 31. It notes the growth in usage of EN 81-20/50 has led to questions of interpretation and interpretation requests. As it was considered impossible to update the standard accordingly on short notice, yet useful to have interpretations available, CEN TC10 Working Group 1 formulated answers and collected them in a question-and-answer (Q&A) document on the AFNOR (French Standardization Association) website. They will later be included in the update of EN 81-20/50. Remaining interpretations will be addressed in the update of EN 81-11.

Providing custom-engineered, code-compliant, fully automated hydraulic systems that can lift 100 lb. to 100 T, PFlow observes it was not the first material-lift manufacturer, but has grown since its 1977 inception to employ 120.

ECS Corp. has opened a 342-sq.-ft. customer center at its 24,000-sq.-ft. facility at 2741 S. 21st Avenue in Broadview, Illinois, approximately 15 mi. outside of Chicago. The newly renovated space serves as a waiting area for local service technicians, as well as a showcase for ECS elevator and escalator parts, helping “ensure that contractors have easy access to needed parts.” Safety equipment is also on display, and staff is on hand to answer questions.
