WWE decided to bring back ECW as the third brand in 2006. Two days before the debut episode on Sci-Fi WWE chose to do a second ECW One Night Stand from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Everyone in the building was ready to see Rob Van Dam win the WWE Championship from John Cena. The fans were excited about the return of ECW. However, it was not the ECW that they would expect.
