Prior to Jesus’ death on a cross at Golgotha, Jesus won the victory in prayer at a place called Gethsemane.

This was a dark hour for Jesus as he contemplates the reality of what he is about to experience on the cross – so he goes to a garden to pray and talk with God the father.  The sin of the world will be on his shoulders and the Father will turn his face from him.  Jesus will be completely abandoned as his death satisfies the justice of God.
