Professor Stanley Wells was co-editor of The Oxford Shakespeare: The Complete Works and is general editor of the Oxford and Penguin editions of Shakespeare as well as Emeritus Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Birmingham and honorary governor emeritus of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
