Is the promise of full bars, good tourism and showcasing Vancouver on a world stage enough of a benefit to sign a blank cheque deal with a corrupt organization like FIFA?  The city of Chicago has dropped their bid for the 2026 World Cup for the same reason that BC is considering dropping out, but some local residents are upset the NDP government isn't looking at the bigger picture and benefits to the city.
