Bad Education is a 2019 American crime comedy based on the true story of the largest public school embezzlement in American history.

Set in Roslyn, Long Island, in the early 2000s, the film tells the story of school superintendent Dr. Frank Tassone (Hugh Jackman) and assistant superintendent Pam Gluckin (Allison Janney), who steal millions  from the same public school district they seek to make the best in the country.

The screenwriter, Makowsky, briefly met Tassone as a child before the scandal broke and attended Roslyn High School in the late 2000s.
