Listen Later

While the official Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1st through November 30th, September historically has been the most active month for hurricanes affecting North Carolina, with 35 percent of all hurricanes striking the state in that month including Hurricane Florence last year. • Dr. Meghan Doyle, Superintendent, Craven County Schools
• Mike Maze, WRAL-TV Meteorologist
