*EDUCATION OR SEDUCATION*
Live Daily Die Daily Footstool Devotional
_One- Year Bible Reading: Read Genesis 4-6, 1 Chronicles 1:1-4_
Read Romans 1:18-32
Education is meant to help us draw out information or the truth that makes us effectively lead in our world, bring solutions to whatever was a problem before. It becomes “ seducation” ( a coined word from the Latin se ducere= away from leadership) when we are knowing so many things but it does not lead us to God. Every discovery, knowledge, truth and information derived from what we see around us should always point us to the Creator. We are not created to worship or admire created things but rather the awesomeness of things in Creation are supposed to lead us to God the Creator.
Romans 1:25 NIV
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.
1. DON’T SUPPRESS THE TRUTH WHILE LEARNING.
Romans 1:18-20 NIV - The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who SUPPRESS THE TRUTH by their wickedness, ¹⁹ since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. ²⁰ For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Always make a conscious effort to connect natural happenings to God, because everything is about Him indeed. When we know that all things are from God and yet we SUPPRESS the truth of saying that these things are actually about God, we are seducing people and leading them away from the truth. Today, many schools teach very good things and high levels of science, math, technology and art but they do not like to mention Jesus or link the hearts of their students to God in the process of teaching. Why is this so? People like to SUPPRESS the truth and this is not good. In fact God’s wrath is reserved for such.
2. GLORIFY AND GIVE THANKS TO GOD IN ALL LEARNING. You maintain godly education by intentionally incorporating the activity of glorifying God and giving thanks to Him in all your teaching. We must make a conscious effort to glorify God for all the wonders and amazing knowledge we come by in all learning. This is proper and just right and prevents “ seducation”, that is futility, foolishness of heart and darkness of hearts.
Romans 1:21-23 NIV - For although they knew God, they neither GLORIFIED HIM AS GOD NOR GAVE THANKS TO HIM, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. ²² Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools ²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
3. RETAIN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IN ALL KNOWLEDGE
Romans 1:28-32 NIV - Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to RETAIN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. ²⁹ They have become filled with every kind of WICKEDNESS, EVIL, GREED and DEPRAVITY. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, ³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; ³¹ they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. ³² Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
YOU are properly educated when the knowledge of God is retained in all your learning. If all your learning does not lead you to fear God, you are into “ seducation”. Not retaining God in our enlightenment leads to depravity of mind. Much of the problems we see in society stems from how people get educated. Exchanging God’s truth for a lie spoils everything. People know how to make guns wh
