Hello, I am Lynda with a Y, aka English Rose to my friends. Born and bred in Yorkshire, England, it was the custom to offer anyone who came into your home a cup of tea. You would then sit down with your visitor and chat about what was happening in your life and the people you knew. Sometimes it was gossip, other times a friend or family member looking for advice.
