Ndivhuwo Tshivhase has an amazing story to tell about his great love for education and how he helps learners make informed career decisions.
On this episode he shares with us what teaching really is and the joys of teaching. He also shares about how you can better prepare yourself when you step into the classroom for the first time. About Complacency Learning: It all started when Mr Ndivhuwo Tshivhase, the founder, would sit with his mom late at night doing mathematics sums. That was when he was in foundation phase (about grade 2). His mom would give him a smack for all incorrect answers as well as for lack of confidence.
As he progresses to different academic phases, his mom would often tell him to use the knowledge and skills he has been taught every time he presents mathematics related questions. Ndivhuwo went straight to University of Pretoria after completing his matric where he obtained his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree then work as a teacher.
The founder, Ndivhuwo Tshivhase, was a post level one teacher with about 4 years of teaching experience at The way Christian School when few parents approached him and asked if he could assist their children individually after school. Ndivhuwo and few parents got together for what was to be the first of many tutoring sessions and a long term relationship. For the rest of the year, they met regularly for amazing lessons that kept them together till this date.
With the teaching qualification and experience in large classrooms, Ndivhuwo discovered that he was able to get in the shoes of learners and help them engage in learning. Many students would often tell him “you are very patient”, “you take what seems hard and make it easy”, “I had difficulties understanding the concept from my teacher” and et cetera. That encouraged Ndivhuwo to continue to do great work as his services were very much appreciated.
