Dr. Melinda Tanner-Hamilton:One of her greatest accomplishments was being accepted in Harvard University Summer

Leadership Institution during the summer of 2003. She was one of 50 participants

selected out of 450 applicants. During this time she tapped into her passion for economic

development and business ownership. She was charged with designing an action plan

while attending Harvard University. Her action plan was entitled Minority Youth

Financial Literacy and Business Project and was designed to teach African American

and other-at risk minority youth the importance of becoming financially literate and it

provided them with financial strategies the equipped them to become financially

empowered.
