Sigmund Freud, founder of the Psychoanalytic Theory, has a nephew who is the propaganda king.  The Propaganda king, Edward Bernays helped make many culture shifts in the consumer, corporations, women and assisted presidents in messaging to the public.

Edward Bernays the propaganda king, made smoking legal with the help of suffragettes.  These feminist helped make smoking a power symbol. 

Corporations looked to Edward Bernays for guidance.  Along the way revolutionizing the way advertisements for goods are.

Tapping into the human subconscious, Edward Bernays played on human emotion and desires.  Edward Bernays realization of the emotional factor in decision making is what made his methods so successful.  

The Propaganda King's methods are still used to this day.  Better know as Public Relations.
