The temptation of Jesus is found in all four Gospels, but each Gospel writer sees Jesus a bit differently. Matthew writes about him as “King,” Mark saw Him as the Perfect Man, the Perfect Servant, Luke wrote of Him as Savior, and John dived right into the Power of Jesus.
Jesus was all these things and was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil. Jesus resisted the devil’s temptations because the Holy Spirit was in FULL CONTROL in Jesus’ life.
The temptation is the only avenue of access for Satan to your life. In Luke 22:31-32, we hear Jesus saying, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
