Eight travelers were killed by gunmen on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway near Gbimsi, where armed attackers set up roadblocks and interrogated passengers. The incident, linked to the ongoing Bawku Conflict, lasted over an hour without a security response. Local political candidate John Krugu claimed that the misuse of the Ghana Card is targeting innocent people based on tribal affiliations. Four of the victims were civilians unrelated to the conflict, traveling for a festival. The local Municipal Chief Executive has yet to comment as the situation is assessed.
