EJ Obiena is a national athlete who is the Philippine and Asian record holder in both indoor and outdoor Men's Pole Vault, after setting a 5.94 meter clearance in the World Athletics Championships (WAC). As of July 2022, he is currently ranked #3 in the latest men's pole vault world rankings, putting the country on the map in the pole vault world. 

He joins the show to talk about the offbeaten career of a national athlete, especially whose sport isn't as recognized under the national spotlight. He talks about the day to day life of a pole vaulter, his bounce back story coming from a potentially career-ending torn ACL/MCL, and how growing up from Tondo gave him the endurance he needed to persevere against controversies and innate disadvantages.
