Antes de entrarle la cuchara a la papa, les dejo las impresiones del carismático Frontman: “Lanzamos Back To The Front y ese fue un gran álbum", dice LG Petrov. "Luego hicimos Dead Dawn y ahora hemos llegado al punto, en el que hemos encontrado nuestra zona de confort, hemos encontrado nuestro propio sonido y sólo nos estamos tomando el tiempo para resolver todo y hacerlo bien". Ahora tenemos un gran sonido y una buena base para el futuro. Todo se siente realmente bien en este momento. El nuevo álbum se llama "Bowels Of Earth", es Death Metal, ¡simple y directo!”. Estos ansiados 36 minutos se desatan con “Torment Remains”. Su primer single y que es la depravada secuela de ese descarnado Death Metal, con que estos suecos contaminaron al mundo, desde el primer demo de Nihilist. “Elimination”, que no es precisamente un cover de Overkill, sino que es un balazo en la sien, con unos furiosos blast beat y unos riffs desquiciantemente hipnotizantes, donde los cambios de intensidades te profanan la psique… y esa voz, son latigazos!!! Le sigue “Hell is my Home”, y luego de sonar éste track, debo reconocer que mi humilde morada, quedó en ruinas!! Creo, que ni el propio infierno, soportará tal embate!!! El homónimo, tras una irónica intro de teclado, es otra herida que se abre en tu carne, para iniciar el proceso infeccioso, ni siquiera esos mórbidos riffs te servirán, para aplacar el dolor, ya que los tarros se centrarán en esa herida y atacarán una y otra vez, hasta que seas polvo. De verdad, que necesito descansar!!! Mi cogote me abandonó en el primer riff, de éste !!! Pero, realmente “Bowels of Earth”, prácticamente corre sólo, n la disputa del mejor LP de Death Metal melódico. Es una mixtura aterciopelada del fastuoso Left Hand Past y Wolverine Blues. Melodías encarnizadas y altamente técnicas brotan como la sangre, desde una yugular cercenada. Obviamente ENTOMBED A.D. Ha incorporado bastantes ingredientes del actual Metal, pero lo ha hecho de forma dosificada y en pasajes específicos, para resaltar la carnicería y otorgarle un grado moderno, es como un viejo cazador de los tiempos neolíticos (Old school), con un bisturí, en sus manos!!!

Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1990, the group's line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Justin Chancellor has been the band's bassist since 1995, replacing their original bassist Paul D'Amour. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.
To date, the band has released four studio albums, one EP and one box set. They emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow (1993), and became a dominant act in the alternative metal movement with the release of their follow-up album Ænima in 1996. Their efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006), gaining critical acclaim and international commercial success. Their fifth studio album, Fear Inoculum, their first in thirteen years, will be released on August 30, 2019. Prior to its release, the band has sold over 13 million albums in the US alone.[1]
Due to Tool's incorporation of visual arts and very long and complex releases, the band is generally described as a style-transcending act and part of progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and art rock. The relationship between the band and today's music industry is ambivalent, at times marked by censorship, and the band's insistence on privacy.
Inspired by Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Motörhead and Venom, Destruction were formed as Knight of Demon in 1982. The original line-up featured guitarist Mike Sifringer, vocalist and bassist Schmier, and drummer Tommy Sandmann. They soon changed their name to Destruction and released a demo titled Bestial Invasion of Hell in 1984. After this the group signed with Steamhammer Records and released an EP titled Sentence of Death later that year.
Destruction released their first full-length album titled Infernal Overkill in 1985, followed by Eternal Devastation in 1986. The trio then added a second guitarist, Harry Wilkens, and released the EP Mad Butcher (1987), the full-length album Release from Agony in 1988, then a live recording Live Without Sense in 1989, and Cracked Brain in 1990.
In 1989, during the initial recording sessions of Cracked Brain, Schmier was fired from the band, and was replaced by Poltergeist frontman André Grieder.[3] Mike Sifringer continued to release albums under the moniker of "Neo-Destruction". In 1999, Schmier rejoined, and things began to look up for the band as they signed a record deal with Nuclear Blast. They then released three more albums: All Hell Breaks Loose in 2000, The Antichrist in 2001, and Metal Discharge in 2003. The band would then sign with AFM Records and release Inventor of Evil in 2005. That album was followed two years later by the compilation of re-recorded songs Thrash Anthems (2007), and then a year later by D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. (2008). In February 2011, Destruction released Day of Reckoning.
Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. The band was founded in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison left the band due to illness on December 12, 2013. Steele left during the recording sessions for .5: The Gray Chapter. The band found replacements in Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. After the departure of Jordison, as of December 2013 the only founding member in the current lineup is percussionist Crahan. Fehn left the band due to lawsuit on March 18, 2019
Sabaton /ˈsæbətɒn/ is a Swedish power metal band from Falun. The band's main lyrical themes are based on war, historical battles, and acts of heroism[1]—the name is a reference to a sabaton, knight's foot armor. The armor and battle theme is heard in the albums Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus, The Art of War, Coat of Arms, Carolus Rex, Heroes, and The Last Stand in which all of the songs contain these motifs, except final tracks which are tribute songs to influential heavy metal bands. An upcoming album, The Great War, was announced early April 2019, with all songs based on World War I. Lyrical content drawn from World War I, World War II and other historical conflicts is prevalent and lyrics often recite stories of heroic deeds by men, women and armies.
In December 2015, five songs by the band were added to the third external music pack for the strategy game Europa Universalis IV by Paradox
On 6 June 2016, the 72nd anniversary of D-Day, they released a music pack for the Paradox game Hearts of Iron IV with songs based on World War II, the theme of the game. They released a second on 26 January 2017.
When Abbath announced that he had left IMMORTAL, it sent massive shockwaves through the metal scene. The iconic frontman had long become the "face" of the Norwegian black scene, his image synonymous with the genre. Upon releasing his debut album with his eponymous new band, ABBATH, in 2016, trve fans were satiated with a dose of icy, blackened fury.
Now, the Norwegian giant returns for round two, armed with a refined lineup and ready to strike with a sophomore effort that is sure to once again exceed the expectations of Abbath’s loyal fanbase. ‘Outstrider’ sees a maturation in sound, delivering a tighter, well-rounded offering from the band as they come into their own identity.
While there are moments that certainly channel the frosty hallmarks of IMMORTAL, there is no danger of ABBATH repeating that formula. ABBATH draws from NWOBM and melodic influences, adding a fresh new flavor to the sound that the band’s founder came to define.
‘Oustrider’ consists of eight, crushing original songs and concludes with a fiery BATHORY cover. The album promises a full-on aural assault from start to finish with frigid riffage and a robust pocket that are layered with vocals from one of the most identifiable voices in black metal. If you thought ABBATH came in hot with their last record, just wait until you hear this!
Lo and behold; 2019 is the 30th anniversary of Turbonegro, who played their first ever show in Copenhagen, Denmark, February 1989!
It’s been over seven years now since the word got out that the Titans from The Big O* (as in Oslo, Norway) were re-resurrected for a second time since their grimy late 80´s beginnings. «Hell, not even Jesus could do THAT!» music lovers worldwide were heard to shriek.
Back in the saddle, the band have crisscrossed the globe delighting fans old and new, packing ’em in from LA to Ålesund, Melbourne to Manchester and all points in between.
November 2015 heralded the unveiling of not only the first new music since 2012’s Sexual Harassment but a new member for the group! Hot For Nietzsche found our boys on full throttle, staring the void right in the face and raising a glass to its honour. The video was shot on location in Vegas – a suitable backdrop for the debauchery.
The HFN single release show in Oslo saw the stage debut of the newest edition to the denim recruits: Keyboard Wizard Crown Prince Haakon-Marius, a hugely invaluable addition to the line-up, according to Guitar Ubermensch Euroboy: «We’re happy to have a keyboard player back in the band again, six years after Pål Pot Pamparius performed his last show with the band. Crown Prince Haakon Marius is a friend of ours from the Oslo music scene and an amazing musician! We had so much fun getting back in the studio as a six piece, to record new material which the addition of a keyboard-player inspired the songwriting and the production.»
Well, lightning does strike twice, because May 2016 saw ANOTHER new single! Just in time for final exams, TURBONEGRO unleashed Special Education to the unsuspecting public. A story of a teenage boy’s fall from academic grace and the cruel and unusual discipline he finds at the very bottom, the song was inspired by repeated watchings of Scum and The Story Of O on the tour bus VHS player; «They were the only tapes we had!» Guitarist Rune Rebellion confesses.
Bass player and cultural commenter Happy-Tom could not contain his excitement: «A golfer from Phoenix once claimed that school is «out». Norway José, au contraire say we: school is «in»! This saucy tale of sizzling hot sexual abuse will MAKE GOING TO SCHOOL GREAT AGAIN.»
And so finally, in the wake of the legendary blizzards of the Scandinavian Winter of 2017, the savvy six gathered in the studio in Oslo to embark on the venture that is now about to be revealed to the world as the ROCKNROLL MACHINE, their ninth studio album to date.
First new song shared was the title track «Rock & Roll Machine» – a song perfectly hitting the fine line between clever and stupid. Everyone has been intrigued and frightened by all the talk about A.I. and robotification of society lately, this one is about bringing that tech-talk into boogie rock territory and stop thinking so much about tomorrow. The Rock and Roll Machine has all the traits you’ll find a in a classic rocker: he keeps going all night, telling Tchaikovsky the news, but is still quite cheap and affordable, and, unfortunately a bit unpredictable (according to some reviewers), quickly becoming passé.
Vocalist Tony Sylvester AKA The Duke Of Nothing had this to say about the new material: ”We’ve spent the the past years honing our skills. The music we are releasing now is more distilled, more refined, more pointed, more powerful; we travelled to the future and this is what we heard on the radio!”
Norwegian metal duo Darkthrone’s career has been a long, strange trip, one that’s always hinged upon the relationship between two rock’n’roll obsessives from Kolbotn. The band’s sound has morphed from the grating, lo-fi black metal barbarism that won them international acclaim in the 1990s into a looser, black metal/punk vibe that debuted on 2006’s The Cult Is Alive and injected new life into their career. Since then, they’ve ditched their more abrasive tendencies in favor of a sonic mish-mash that trumpets the duo’s joyful debt to classic heavy metal to the rafters.
Darkthrone’s 18th album, Old Star—which perennial mouthpiece Gylve “Fenriz” Nagell has described as the band’s “most ’80s album so far”—is a celebration of their storied past, produced by Ted “Nocturno Culto” Skjellum in his own Necrohell 2 Studios and polished by veteran knob-twiddlers Sanford Parker’s mix and Jack Control’s mastering job. Both members of Darkthrone share vocal, guitar, and bass duties (with Fenriz also putting in time on the drums), and over the years, they have forged the kind of bond most musicians can only dream about. This new album is in line with what fans of the band’s more recent (as in, post-2006) material have come to expect, but with a new twist—namely, the outsized impact that traditional doom bands like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus seem to have had on the songwriting. Darkthrone still stand firmly in the heavy metal (with a dash of punk) camp, but they’ve definitely got a soft spot for old-school gloom.
There’s a melodic strain running through Old Star, particularly on tracks like the delectably doomy “Alp Man” (which suits Nocturno Culto’s breathy rasp) and the up-tempo “Duke of Gloat” (two of several delightfully nonsensical titles on this release. What is an “alp man”? We’ll never know!). “Duke of Gloat” is also the only track on Old Star that could convincingly be labeled “black metal”; despite Darkthrone’s roots in the second wave, their status as genre godfathers, and the designation on their label’s promo materials, the duo’s true Norwegian black metal days are long over. However, with its icy, mid-tempo malevolence and Satanic bent, this song is a thrilling reminder of past evils.
“The Hardship of the Scots,” on the other hand, is pure Celtic Frost worship, with a twist—as metal site Last Rites astutely noted, the song’s main riff is a fairly blatant homage to AC/DC’s “Let Me Put My Love Into You.” Darkthrone and Fenriz in particular seem to delight in sneaking references to other beloved bands into their music, lyrics, and album artwork, and while it isn’t quite as apparent as on albums like F.O.A.D. or Circle the Wagons, Old Star is no exception. That rock’n’roll influence serves them well in the more rollicking moments of songs like “I Muffle Your Inner Choir,” and on upbeat album closer “The Key Is Inside the Wall,” and keeps things from getting too serious. All in all, they’ve come a long way from Ravishing Grimness.
Rammstein (German pronunciation: [ˈʁamʃtaɪn]) is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Berlin in 1994. Their six-man lineup—lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz—has remained unchanged throughout their existence. Prior to their formation, some members were associated with acts such as Feeling B and First Arsch.
After winning a contest for amateur bands, Rammstein were able to record demos and send them to different record labels; they were eventually signed by Motor Music. Working with producer Jacob Hellner, they released their debut album Herzeleid in 1995. Though the album sold poorly, the band gained popularity through their live performances. Their rise led to the release of their second album, Sehnsucht, two years later. It debuted at No. 1 in Germany, resulted in a worldwide tour lasting nearly four years, and spawned the successful singles "Engel" and "Du hast" as well as the live album Live aus Berlin.
Following the expansive tour, Rammstein signed with major label Universal Music and released Mutter in 2001. Six singles were released from the album, all charting in multiple countries throughout Europe. The lead single, "Sonne", reached No. 2 in Germany. They released Reise, Reise in 2004 and had two more singles reach No. 2 in Germany; "Mein Teil" and "Amerika". The following year saw the release of their fifth album, Rosenrot, and a live release, Völkerball, one year after.
