INTRODUCTION (5 MINS):

3. THE CONCEPT OF SIN:

 Sin is a mystery.

 Sin was introduced into the heavens when Lucifer rebelled against God out of pride.

 Lucifer became the author of sin and was cast out of heaven.

 Sin was in the spirit but needed an agent to enter into the world.

 He used the form of a snake to deceive Eve into disobeying the command of God by eating

of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

 By this sin was generally imputed to all men when Adam also ate of the fruit against the will

of God.

ROMANS5:12 NIV “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death

through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned-”

 The introduction of sin into mankind brought spiritual death which resulted in a broken

communication and fellowship between God and mankind.

 When Adam ate the fruit, his spirit man died to God and an unregenerate spirit was left.

 Therefore God had to be reconciled to mankind through Jesus Christ.

2 CORINTHIANS5:18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ

and gave us a ministry of reconciliation:”

4. COMPONENTS OF MAN

 Man is a SPIRIT, he has a SOUL and he lives in a BODY.

1THESSALONIANS5:23 “May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and

through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord

Jesus Christ.”

 Animals have only soul and body.

 The spirit of the natural man is dead and a habitat for the devil.

 Our spirits is the actual person who will live forever.(LUKE16:22-LAZARUS/ RICHMAN)

 Through our bodies our spirit has access to the world therefore Jesus was born in the flesh.

 Our spirit is the HIDDEN MAN(1PETER3:4KJV), the INWARD

MAN(2CORIN.4:16KJV) and the INNER MAN(EPHESIANS3:16KJV)

 The soul is the component of man through which his will, emotions, conscience and

decisions are perceived.

 The un-renewed soul of man is dead, desperately wicked and deceitful.(ROMANS1:18-29)

 When one is not born again, his spirit and soul are of the devil and destined for hell.4

 Now all that man has to do is to acknowledge his sinful state and accept Jesus Christ into his

heart by confessing Jesus as his Savior and Lord.

ROMANS10:10 “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with

your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved”

 One who does so is born again through regeneration or new birth.

 He has become a NEW CREATION.

 All men enter the world through birth by a woman and hence bear Adam’s sins by

imputation. Hence the need for a new creation.

 A new creation is one whom after being born of the flesh is further born of the Spirit of God.

JOHN3:6 “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit”

 It is to be recreated and transformed by God through His Word and the power of the Holy

Spirit.

 A new creation is born again, not of corruptible seed (man’s seed), but of incorruptible, by the

Word of God, which lives and abides forever.(1 PETER1:23)

 A new creation is a child of God, born not of natural descent, nor human decision or a

husband’s will, but BORN OF GOD.(JOHN1:13)

 A new creation is of God.(1 JOHN4:4)5

 A new creation is a kind of first fruit of all God created, giving birth through the word of truth.
