“Elections have consequences” as the saying goes, and certainly that idea has been on our mind in this season of elections and inauguration. But for the Muslim community, there was an election in our history that was far more consequential than any in the modern day: the election of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, May Allah be pleased with him.
