In Wednesday's episode, Drew and Alex discuss another dimension of the coronavirus pandemic - the 2020 elections and the primaries that precede them. It seems like the U.S. electoral cycle flourishes off of crowds, rallies, conventions, and the show of it all. Both Drew and Alex feel that with people staying at home and primaries being postponed, the 2020 election could be dramatically changed. They discuss how the pandemic could benefit or hurt President Trump depending on how he appears to manage the crisis. However, they mention that it is nearly impossible for Trump to postpone or cancel the election; this is because of constitutional requirements. They also feel that this crisis could be detrimental to Bernie Sanders' need for large crowds, and it could help Joe Biden as long as he plays things safe. The two also discuss potential alternatives to voting at locations such as voting by mail, and also the complications and issues that could be caused by this.
