The Electoral Reform Consultation Panel says that it has noted growing calls for a constituency based voting in the South Africa. The panel said this while publishing written submissions it has received so far on proposals for an electoral system for the National Assembly and Provincial Legislatures. The Panel has been mandated to independently investigate, consult and make recommendations in respect of elections to be held after 2024. So far, they have concluded four months of public consultations in urban and rural areas in all the nine provinces.
