Electoral systems need urgent reform and South Africa is no exception, this according to Professor Roger Southall, Professor of Sociology, at University of the Witwatersrand. Professor Southall says the Brexit crisis has raised fundamental questions about the country's democracy and whether the two-party system is now dead on its feet. He says this question is pertinent in the UK, as well as for other countries, including South Africa where voters will go to the polls on the 8th of May.
