While it's a fact that public transportation is a lifeline for many who have limited or very often no other dependable transportation option for school, work or medical appointments, the growing fleet of electric buses many in fact benefit these communities in other ways.  Imagine each electric bus as a large energy storage facility.  Add in an ability for bi-directional charging and you have a new resource to power community centers, hospitals and other "mission critical" facilities in the event of extreme weather events that may knock out the traditional power grid for hours or days at a time.
