In episode 18, I interview Jake Stevenson. Jake is a music producer, audio producer, DJ, and writer. Jake also created, curated, and coordinated “Night Daze” which is a series of virtual festivals which helped put artists like Emorfik on the map. Jake was previously on my writing staff back around 2018, when I was editor in chief for an EDM promotion company blog. We chat about everything from music production, platonic heartbreak, festivals, raving, the importance of EDM vocalists, mental health, and the difficulties of being neurodivergent. Jake shares his viewpoint on being autistic and what has influenced him creatively to make his vaporwave albums such as Seabreeze and his spoken word collection called Points on Bandcamp.
