Sometimes in life we are presented with questions we aren't prepared to answer. And when we find ourselves facing tough questions, we can find ourselves scrambling for an answer. But here's the thing: where or what we turn to with our questions matters immensely. Because questions create consequences since answers ultimately lead to actions. So the big question we must answer first is: "Where should we turn with our questions?" Well, thankfully God hasn't left us in the dark to figure this out on our own. And the Apostle Paul tells us exactly where we should look for answers to life's tough questions.

Psalm 34:19 gives us both a guarantee and a promise. The guarantee isn't necessarily something we get excited about: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous." Yeah. None of us are shouting thanks about that one. Yet, all of us are aware of just how true that is. Thankfully, the verse doesn't end there. That may be the guarantee, but thankfully, God finishes with a promise, "But the Lord delivers him out of them all." Join us as Pastor Randy explores how even though none of us are exempt from troubles, even followers of Jesus, we can all find hope in the promise that God will see us safely through them all.

Than and Megan Graffam from Hope Project International stopped by to tell us about all the amazing things God has been doing since they were last with us. It was an incredible time celebrating the goodness of God and what He can accomplish in the world when His people choose to engage in the ministry of generosity.

One of the greatest influences in what we live like is the people we live with. Yet, so often in our discipleship to Jesus we put more emphasis on practices than people. We think a lot about the things we do or don't do, but aren't always as intentional regarding the people we do things with. This can be dangerous, because as pastor and author Craig Groeschel writes, "Living the right life is almost impossible if you have the wrong friends." For this reason, God has given us one of the greatest gifts ever...church! What if the greatest threat to your intimacy with God is actually your mindset towards the things you're doing for God?

In this final sermon of our series walking through the parable of the Prodigal Son, we're going to see what happens when the older brother returns from the fields to find everyone celebrating the return of his younger brother. And how he responds actually reveals a lot about how he viewed himself and how he viewed his father.

From this, we're going to find a warning against falling into two incredibly dangerous, and unfortunately, very common pitfalls we can experience in our own relationship with our Heavenly Father that we must avoid at all cost in order to protect our intimacy with Him.

Sometimes we want to go to God, but there are certain things holding us back. Maybe pride is preventing us from repenting. Or maybe, it is a feeling that we're unworthy that makes us fear we're unwelcome. Well, in this next message in our "Falling" series, we're going to observe three things the prodigal son does as he returns home and the three things the father gives him in response. And in this, we're going to see why when sin leaves us broken and bruised there's only one place for us to go...back home to our Heavenly Father.

Sin never produces what it promises.

This sums up the younger son's experience after leaving home and squandering his wealth on wild and reckless living. After falling away from his father, he now experiences everything falling apart in his life.

Join us as we discuss and discover what to do when our sin and foolish choices bring about pain and destruction in our lives. Things may feel hopeless. We may feel helpless. But in reality, help is one turn away.

In the second part of our series "Falling," we being our journey through Jesus' telling of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. In this sermon we'll discover the first of three falls the prodigal son experiences and how it applies to our lives and relationship with God. We're going to discover and discuss what happens when we pursue autonomy from God instead of living in relationship with God and under the authority of God.

What kind of people does Jesus welcome?

In Part 1 of our new series, Falling, Pastor Thomas-Steele sets the stage for one of Jesus’ most famous stories—the parable of the prodigal son. Before Jesus ever tells the story, Luke tells us that sinners and tax collectors were drawing near to Him while the Pharisees stood back and grumbled.

In “Wide Receiver,” we discover the heart of Jesus toward people who are far from God: Jesus gives access to the outcast, receives sinners in order to restore sinners, and calls His followers to celebrate whenever grace brings someone home.
