Elijah's faith in God led him to stand up against the apostasy under King Ahab, and to risk his life to demonstrate God's power. In the midst of the rain after God's display of strength on Mt. Carmel, Elijah's faith was great enough to allow him to show compassion to his enemy who tried to have him killed.
