Newly 18 Elizabeth was excited to move away from home. Two days before her disappearance she argued with patriarch Joseph Fritzl upon the pronouncement that she would be moving in with her older sister in a different city. From 1988-2008 nobody saw Elizabeth, letters from her pronounced that she was happy and in a commune. But when her eldest daughter gets sick and her organs begin shutting down she is whisked away to the hospital. Staff and news plea with the, still absent Elizabeth, to come to the side of her daughter. After days, Elizabeth finally shows looking as fragile as her daughter. It isn't until police promise her safety that her story comes to light. She never left her home, all these years she's been a prisoner right under the feet of the rest of her family.
