Finding Hope

Elizabeth O’Brien – The Woman Who Banned Leaded Petrol

Listen Later

When you go and fill up your car with petrol – there are generally a few options. E10, Premium Octane, diesel – and regular old unleaded. Behind the ban is 30 years of science, testing, lobbying - all headed by one Sydney scientist Elizabeth O’Brien, who joined the cause when she found out that her own son had been lead poisoned.
