Elizabeth has a strong love for the ocean, and it was there that she discovered the connection of land to sea. The watersheds, the farms, the natural wildlife species, and fauna in Hawai’i could cease to exist when a wildfire is ignited and spreads. Helping communities understand how they as individuals can prevent the spread of wildfires became one of her missions since joining HWMO some seventeen years ago.
