We open today's show, January 31st, 2020, with a discussion about the impact of the Trump administration quietly changing the definitions of domestic violence and sexual assault back in April. These definition had been expanded under the Obama administration to include non-physical abuse like intimidation, manipulation, humiliatiation, isolation and more, but has since been reversed under Trump.We then turn to discuss the ongoing crisis of missing indigenous women here in the US. According to the FBI’s National Crime Information Center, 5,590 Indigenous women were reported missing last year, but advocates say the staggeringly high rates of violence Indigenous people is still not fully reflected in official accounting as many activists say there is a huge lack of information on the countless unresolved cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women.We end with an extended segment on the upcoming Iowa Caucus for the 2020 democratic primaries.
