Eliza's Interviews: Caroline Yongue

Listen Later

Caroline Yongue (Savana Amata) is a Buddhist minister and founder of the Center for End of Life Transitions and Carolina Memorial Sanctuary- both in Western North Carolina near Asheville. In her conversation with Eliza, the two discuss breathing space for anxiety, fear, overwhelm, and grief, focusing our awareness, sensory consciousness, and home funerals. Buddhists believe that rather than a soul, that karma, consciousness, and awareness live on after the brain dies, and that consciousness takes a 49 day journey through the realms of the death bardo. It is throughout this ordeal that important choices must be made, choices that can be guided with the help of the living.
