Ellen Wiss, founder of Read USA called into the show to talk about the upcoming book fair serving the largest number of highest needs students in our community each with the choice of three FREE brand-new books. She talked about equipping kids with book ownership just before school lets out for summer break. With new books in hand, low income students will have a cultural experience over summer and many will develop a love for reading, setting them up for success. READERS are LEADERS! We also talked about Local philanthropist and READ USA supporter and friend, Delores Barr Weaver, has offered a challenge grant to enhance the POWER of reading!!
