Our featured idealist of the week is Nora Spencer and her North Carolina nonprofit, Hope Renovations, which trains women and nonbinary humans on basic skills for the construction trades and then supports them to increase the number of women in the trades. This week’s Big Interview is with Lloyd Campbell, the newly elected governor for Rotary International District 5950, who talks about working to make Rotary more diverse and welcoming to all humans. In my C-Block, I talk about my decision to leave Lavender Magazine after a decade of writing for the publication. The reason? I was told that I could no longer write about “political” things, like the need to protect queer kids from what’s happening in America. Ugh.
