This profile traces him from a Pretoria boyhood and a PayPal windfall to the trillion-dollar present — and corrects the headlines along the way: he really is the first trillionaire, but via SpaceX's record June 2026 IPO, not the Tesla pay package; "he never pays tax" is half-true; "his models don't work" is false; and "he just bought Cursor" is substantially true but imprecise.

The deeper question is whether his "integrated master plan" was ever real.
