Last Week Musk, confirmed that he's working on a subscription model known as Twitter Blue in which users can pay $8 a month to get verified, infact this update is now live for IPhone Users.

If the subscription goes to plan, it will help Twitter, have a predictive revenue stream of income, something that Musk needs considering he bought Twitter for $44 Billion dollars with debt.
