A familiar face in the motorsports world and 30-year veteran of sports media relations, Elon Werner, founder of Werner Communications, oversees a host of clients on speedways across the country, including Josh Hart Racing, Buddy Hull and Jim Dunn Racing, Foster Family Racing, Chris King Racing and Zizzo Racing, Texas Motorplex, Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown. He also oversees national media pitching strategies, press release creation and distribution, media relations and crisis management.
In 2014 Werner received the Jim Chapman Award for excellence in motorsports public relations. The Chapman Award is considered by many in the industry as the highest honor in racing public relations. It is named in memory of Chapman, the legendary PR executive and innovator, who worked with Babe Ruth and was named Indy Car racing’s “most influential man” of the 1980s. In 2023 he was recognized by Nationals Dragster as one of 25 NHRA Movers, Shakers and Deal Makers.
Werner coordinated public relations and marketing for No. 1 pick Jameis Winston in the lead up to the 2015 NFL Draft and helped launch the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2000. He has contributed to marketing and promotional campaigns for Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Monster Energy, PEAK Antifreeze and the Automobile Club of Southern California.
Most recently Werner founded Werner G+E LLC, a games and entertainment company that oversees Drag Race Bracket Bonanza, the first dynamic online fantasy game for NHRA, and is in production on several television projects for the NHRA FAST channel.
A graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, he lives in Mansfield, Texas with his wife Jennifer. The couple has two children, Abby and Nick. His hobbies include movies, reading and grilling.
