Why do we allow numbers to measure worth?
As you know I am at the beginning stages of building a business, and I have almost lost the plot a few times because I haven't met the number goals I have set out for myself.
I am very grateful for this shift in perspective and new insights that dropped in for me.
Have a listen and let me know your thoughts.
If there is something you want to do, just do it. Create for the sake of it. Do it because you want to do it. Do it for you.
What if the part of you that you’ve spent your whole life trying to silence… was actually trying to guide you home?
In this deeply honest conversation, Claire and I dive into what it really means to come back into your body — not the polished, picture-perfect version of “embodiment,” but the messy, uncomfortable, deeply human kind.
Claire shares how, at just three years old, she went from being loud, expressive and full of life… to becoming the “good girl.” Quiet. Shy. Timid.
Personality or survival response?
We talk about how easily we can mistake the adaptations we made as children for who we actually are — and how those patterns can follow us into adulthood, shaping our relationships, our choices, and the way we move through the world.
Claire also shares how dance became the unexpected doorway back into herself… even when her nervous system was screaming at her to freeze.
We explore why embodiment isn't always graceful or beautiful. Sometimes embodiment is sitting in your discomfort. Sometimes it's feeling completely stuck. Sometimes it's moving one finger when that's all your body can manage.
And then Claire tells me about the moment her body gave her a message she simply couldn't ignore…
A steel rod in her heart.
We talk about intuition, trauma, self-abandonment, learning to trust the sensations in your body, and the courage it takes to choose yourself when your mind is desperately trying to convince you otherwise.
We also get into why the simple things — movement, touch, breath, stillness, even looking at your own hand — can sometimes be far more powerful than another complicated wellness practice.
I share a very personal story about what happened when I finally allowed myself to meet one of my own deepest wounds in my body while Claire held space for me.
It forever changed the way I experience my body — and my relationship with myself.
Because maybe your body isn't the problem.
Maybe it's been communicating with you all along.
The question is…
What happens when you finally learn how to listen?

This episode is a reminder that self-respect is not about willpower, shame, or copying someone else’s wellness routine. It’s about paying attention, getting honest, and trusting the truth your body has been telling you all along. Perfect for anyone ready to make choices that actually feel nourishing—and stop giving their energy away to things that drain it.
What if the answers you’ve been searching for aren’t outside of you at all… but buried underneath everything you’ve been taught to believe?
In this deeply honest and vulnerable conversation, I sit down with Heidi Firth of Be Your Own Guru to explore what it really means to come home to yourself — to move out of the noise of the mind and into the quieter wisdom of the body.
We talk about the journey from the head to the heart, learning to hear the subtle language of your body, questioning the beliefs and patterns you’ve simply accepted as “the way things are,” and what happens when your life starts asking you to slow down and listen.
Heidi shares parts of her own story that shaped the woman she is today — including childhood trauma, shame, disconnection, self-parenting, and the unconscious ways our past can shape the reality we create as adults.
We explore what happens when the identity you’ve built your entire life around suddenly falls apart… when the goals you thought would make you happy no longer do… and when your body forces you to stop.
Because sometimes what feels like falling apart is actually the beginning of coming home.
We talk about the uncomfortable truth that growth doesn’t always feel good. Sometimes the right decision feels uncomfortable as fuck. Sometimes you have absolutely no idea where you’re going. And sometimes the deepest healing begins when you finally stop running from the parts of yourself you’ve been trying so hard not to feel.
This conversation is about becoming your own guru — not because you don’t need support, but because ultimately, nobody can know your truth better than you.
And perhaps the biggest question is this:
What if the thing you’ve been trying to escape from is actually the very doorway leading you back to yourself?
Press play and come with us into the uncomfortable, messy, beautiful space of remembering who you really are…
Because there’s a moment in Heidi’s story where everything she thought she knew about her life begins to unravel — and what emerges on the other side might make you question what you’ve been calling “falling apart” in your own life.

What if your biggest struggle isn’t finding yourself… but learning to stop abandoning yourself?
In this deeply personal episode of Embodied Truth, I sit down with my dear friend Kendra for a conversation that goes places neither of us could have planned.
Kendra’s embodied truth isn’t a simple statement.
It’s a question:
How do I stop abandoning my embodied truth?
For much of her life, Kendra learned how to read the room, keep the peace, stay quiet and become whatever she needed to be to feel safe, loved and accepted.
Growing up without knowing her biological father, carrying the weight of a complicated childhood and becoming a parentified daughter, she developed an unconscious belief that she didn't truly belong.
That belief followed her into adulthood.
Into relationships.
Into marriage.
Into the way she saw herself.
Until eventually, she realized she had become so disconnected from her own voice that she couldn't even trust herself to know what she wanted.
In this conversation, Kendra opens up about the moment she finally found the courage to leave her marriage, the uncomfortable process of figuring out who she was underneath all the roles she had been playing for so long, and connecting to the little girl she had buried along the way.
This isn't simply a story about leaving a marriage and finding yourself again.
Because just when Kendra began to rediscover who she was and experience a kind of love and connection she hadn't known before, life dealt her another devastating blow...
This conversation explores grief, abandonment, generational trauma, forgiveness, self-worth, belonging, authentic connection, suicide and what it really means to become a safe place for yourself.
We talk about breaking cycles, giving ourselves the same grace we offer other people, and the difference between becoming someone new and remembering who you have always been.
If you've ever felt like you don't belong…
If you've lost yourself trying to keep other people happy…
If you've stayed somewhere because you were afraid of what would happen if you left…
Or if you're carrying the kind of grief that changes you to your core...
I know you'll find lots of value in this conversation.
Every time I listen to this episode I get a new powerful insight.
Trust your body. Live your truth.
Kendra does love a good email and this podcast was way out of her comfort zone so send her some love. [email protected]
What if the thing you thought was your biggest failure was actually the beginning of your next chapter?
In this episode of Embodied Truth, I sit down with Shelbi — certified life coach, EFT facilitator and digital course creator — for a conversation about energy, self-belief, manifestation, identity, ego, entrepreneurship and what it really means to create a life that feels good from the inside out.
Shelbi’s embodied truth is simple but powerful: a woman’s energy is her greatest asset.
But she didn’t always believe that.
Her journey began at a time when her confidence and self-worth were at an all-time low. She was struggling in school, partying, questioning her intelligence and wondering what direction her life was even going in. Then one decision changed everything.
She began taking care of her body, changing her habits, surrounding herself with different people and — slowly — something inside her shifted.
She started believing in herself.
That belief took her into entrepreneurship, personal development and a decade of chasing a dream she was convinced would be her ultimate destination.
And for a while, it looked like everything was working.
The business grew. The opportunities came. She experienced financial freedom, massive personal growth and moments where she genuinely believed she had finally made it.
Until it all started to crumble.
And this is where Shelbi’s story gets really interesting.
Because when the thing you have spent years building falls apart, what happens to the identity you built around it?
What happens when the dream you visualized, worked for and sacrificed for… doesn't happen the way you thought it would?
Shelbi opens up about the grief of letting go of a dream, feeling like a failure, losing faith in herself and eventually realizing that perhaps she wasn't meant to keep pushing forward on the same path.
We talk about the difference between pushing and pivoting, the role of ego and validation, why we can sometimes manifest from a place of wanting external proof of our worth, and what happens when we stop looking outside ourselves for the answer.
We also dive into manifestation and what it means to let go of the how — trusting the path, holding certainty and becoming an energetic match for the life you're asking for.
But one of my favourite parts of this conversation is where we bring it all back to something much simpler:
What if you stopped waiting for your life to become better before allowing yourself to enjoy it?
Shelbi shares why she believes you can start romanticizing your life today — with the job you already have, the home you live in, the body you're in and the life that's happening right now.
Because maybe happiness isn't something waiting for you on the other side of your next goal.
Maybe it starts here, right here, right now.
This conversation is honest, vulnerable, sometimes uncomfortable and full of those moments where you might just stop and think, “Huh, that's a very interesting perspective, I haven't thought of.”
If you've ever felt stuck, questioned whether you're on the right path, struggled with self-belief, chased a dream that no longer feels like yours, or wondered whether you're meant for something more…
this episode is for you.
And Shelbi's story might just make you question what you've been calling a failure all along.
Trust your body. Live your truth.

From People-Pleasing to Self-Respect: Liz’s Story of Grief, Addiction & Coming Home to Herself
What happens when a lifetime of people-pleasing, grief, addiction and trying to control the world around you finally catches up with you?
In this deeply honest conversation Liz shares the messy, beautiful and often uncomfortable reality of healing.
Liz shares her story of losing her first husband in a tragic car accident at just 23, the survivor’s guilt and fear that followed, and how unresolved trauma shaped the way she loved, parented and moved through the world. She opens up about her relationship with alcohol, the role it played in numbing emotional pain, and the moment she realized something needed to change.
Together, we unpack codependency, people-pleasing, shame, addiction, grief, toxic relationships, nervous-system responses and the experience of grieving people who are still alive.
Liz speaks candidly about reaching one of the darkest points of her life, and the people and practices that helped her begin to find her way back .
This conversation is about more than Liz’s story. It’s about the patterns so many of us unknowingly live inside: looking outside ourselves for validation, taking responsibility for other people’s emotions, avoiding discomfort, abandoning ourselves to keep the peace, and carrying shame for the ways we learned to survive.
And then, slowly, learning something different.
Learning that boundaries aren't rejection. That feeling isn't failure. That we don't have to fix everyone we love. That healing doesn't mean never being triggered again. And that self-respect can change the way we experience every relationship we have.
Liz’s story is a powerful reminder that you don't have to stay who you were simply because that's who you've always been.
Sometimes healing is simply taking off the mask — and finally learning what it feels like to live without it.
She says something near the end of our conversation that hit me...
“We're powerful ourselves. But we're powerless over other people.”
So what happens when you stop trying to control everyone else?
What happens when you finally put your own oxygen mask on?
And who might you discover underneath the mask you've been wearing all along?
