Scripture - Acts 2.1-4   Rev Daniel French explores the shallowness and dangers of imagining that we can negotiate religious altered states and spiritual gifts without God - as if Pentecost could be delivered in a pill form.  He argues instead for a deeper understanding of Christian religious experiences that involves not only the delightful but also the wounds of Christ and the suffering of the world.
