When it comes to marketing yourself we always get told to just "be ourselves”. But what does that mean? 

Be authentically you. I hate that phrase.

What’s that mean though really? It’s a cliche, but it has some truth to it.

I call it something else: embracing your weirdness.

Ever since I started podcasting I’ve gone through stages of me trying to discover…me.

When I first started podcasting, I was very formal. Then I went weird, got bored, and just returned to my normal me.

It’s surprisingly difficult to be yourself in marketing, and when producing content. We’re always told to be professional. Don’t swear. Don’t do this. Don’t do that.

We spend a surprising amount of our time trying to please others by being something else. Stop it. Just embrace your weirdness.
