Embracing Gratitude: Lessons from Bedtime Rituals

The power of gratitude has intrigued me, but making it a consistent practice has been challenging. In a conversation with my friend Dallis, she shared a bedtime ritual she does with her son, Gage. Each night, they express things they are grateful for. I learned important lessons from their parenting approach:


1. Consistency and Routine: Dedicate a specific time for gratitude, like bedtime, to reflect and express appreciation.


2. Flexibility and Individuality: Allow each person to choose what they are grateful for, valuing personal experiences.


3. Leading by Example: Actively participate in gratitude practice and be a role model.


Dallis' approach inspired me to find my own way of practicing gratitude. It can be as simple as a moment of reflection before bed or finding small ways throughout the day. Gage's practice shows that gratitude benefits anyone, regardless of age.


This conversation has left a lasting impact, reinvigorating my desire to embrace gratitude. I'm grateful for the lessons learned and the reminder that gratitude enriches our lives and brings joy.
