Leah Taylor Roy, a native of York Region, hails from a family deeply committed to community service and engagement in local non-profits. She earned a Commerce degree from the University of Toronto before pursuing a master's in public policy at Harvard University, specializing in International Finance and Development.
Her career journey took her to the World Bank, where she delved into policy analysis and Treasury work, followed by a stint at McKinsey & Company in Toronto, serving Canadian corporations nationwide. Transitioning to her husband's family energy business, she played a pivotal role in government relations and business expansion.
Alongside her professional endeavors, Leah founded a non-profit facilitating microcredit loans for aspiring entrepreneurs in underserved regions. She and her husband raised a blended family of six children, actively supporting various York Region charities.
In 2022, Leah joined the Board of the Watershed Alliance of the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority. Currently serving as a Member of Parliament, Leah chairs the Liberal Womenβs caucus and contributes to committees addressing environmental sustainability, agriculture, and animal welfare. She advocates for her constituents in Aurora Oak Ridges Richmond Hill and champions human rights, particularly women's rights and environmental conservation.
When not in Ottawa, Leah resides in Aurora with her husband, youngest daughter, and two beloved dogs.
